Miami Beach Pride 2013

Miami Beach Pride 2013Miami Beach Pride 2013 was an amazing sight. Imagine 80,000 people in your backyard celebrating their love. The event was a success thanks to the support and dedication of so many sponsors and volunteers that made the 5th annual event a success – and Boundmag.com didn’t miss a single beat, from block parties to pool parties, we were there (and the reason why we are all still sunburned and exhausted). Adam Lambert as the headliner for Sunday night was close to amazing. We loved him on Idol, and when we found out he was family it made us love him even more. Thank you Danny Hilton for being the appetizer – he bought it, cute, sexy, British and very talented. Danny Hilton you did us good. Thank you. Other incredible performers over the weekend included the stupid good DJ Theresa and Lady Bunny, as well as Crystal Waters and Lady M. Azucar Nightclub held its first ever high-heel race from 9th Street to 12th Street before the start of the parade - which, by the way, brought a record 173 floats down Ocean Drive all under the blessing of this year’s Grand Marshall Mayor Matti Bower.

If you can’t remember all the fun you had, check out the Miami Beach Gay Pride album under Event Pix.

It’s Black, It’s White

Lynn Bove and icandee events celebrated their thirteenth year at LMNT. The women looked spectacular, as always, dressed to the nines in the black and white theme. DJs Gigi and Citizen Jane kept the night going with diverse sets of Salsa, Merengue, Top 40, and House. Afrobeta stole the show with a jam session that had everyone swaying.

Cheers to icandee! We wish you 13 more happy years of success.

Orchid is hot, but don’t look for a plot

In the middle of Biscayne Boulevard, one of Miami’s busiest streets, a new world has been erected: The Pleasure Garden. A tent-like city reminiscent of Cirque du Soleil houses a fantastic little fantasy-land that, once inside, makes you feel like you’ve time-traveled to the hipster version of 19th century Europe. You can have dinner and/or drinks before the show, with an exclusive food and beverage program developed by James Beard and Michelle Bernstein. The show itself is a mix of a modern musical with burlesque and acrobacy, based around the show’s main character - an Orchid that drives everyone to the brink of dry-humping. The story-line gets a little lost, but before you have a second to think about it, the gorgeous cast distracts you with their sensuality. Like most erections, it’s temporary, so catch Orchid before she wilts away forever.

If you go:

Orchid The Show is playing now through January 20. For tickets, click here.

THE PLEASURE GARDEN
299 NE 38th St.
Miami, FL 33137
38th Street and Biscayne Boulevard.
The Pleasure Garden is situated at the gateway of Miami's Design District, less than 10 minutes west from Miami Beach, directly across from the Julia Turtle Causeway.

Hellrotika Odyssey of the Gods 2012

Save Dade's Hellrotika was a night of amazing costumes and fabulous music. We have many events in Miami for Halloween, but Hellrotika is definitely the event not to be missed. In its 18th year they pulled no punches, look at the pictures and you will see.

People went all out and it was worth the price (or donation) of admission. Surprisingly, Pee Wee Herman won the costume contest mainly because he stayed in character all night long.

SAVE Dade represents us year-round, so this is their night to raise money while celebrating the gayest holiday of the year. For more on their good deeds, read this. I am looking forward to seeing you at Hellrotika 2013.

Check out our Bound photo gallery of the event.

Everyone looks good in Black

Not even Super Storm Sandy was able to shut down the third annual Back in Black. Originally set for Bicentennial Park, organizers changed the venue to Miami’s iconic Club Space to make sure nothing stopped party-goers from having the time of their lives.

The lineup was out of this world, with Paul Van Dyk, The Crystal Method, Dirty South, and Electrick Dread featuring Kevens, among others. And the costumes were equally outrageous. Check out the pictures here.

This festival sets itself apart from any other by being the premiere adult Halloween-themed party, not only in Miami, but in the US. We can’t wait to hear who they bring in 2013.

Check out our Bound photo gallery of the event.
