Carrie Underwood: Jesus take the wheel of this truck and get those lesbians to the altar.

I’m sure you heard the incredibly exciting news this week when Carrie Underwood came out in support of same-sex marriage.

She made the following statement while being interviewed by British newspaper The Independent, “I don’t know what it’s like to be told I can’t marry somebody I love, and want to marry. ... I can’t imagine how that must feel."

What a simple and logical statement. But, because it pertains to same-sex couples, she is already receiving more criticism on the message boards than if she would’ve replaced the word “marry” with the word “murder.”

Among the terrible things people are saying, I’ve found a few winners (and by winners, I mean losers):

Wow! God destroyed 2 cities in the Bible because they were full of homosexuality. So, Carrie and her husband supports gay marriages while calling themselves Christian? A church who is gay friendly? Are you serious? Talk about an abomination. First PETA now this. Carrie, change to pop music!

We all know PETA is just a stepping stone to pop music. Here is a more serious call to action:

It looks like Carrie is not the believing Christian she claims to be. Read the Bible again and repent Carrie.

I’m not sure what her sin is exactly. Is it compassion? Is it empathy? Maybe this next comment will help:

It is called "God given talent" for a reason. God does not support gay marriage. What a slap in the face to Him Carrie! I never cared for your music and I've never gave you a dime of my money to buy it. I will for sure not give it to you now. Before anyone accuses me of being a "hater", DON'T. I live by the bible. I do not hate. I just know that I do not care for the lifestyle and know it is wrong. So long Carrie!

The hater that doesn’t hate. Sounds like a lyric from Alanis Moriessette’s “Ironic.”

And now for the final comment that did it for me:

"Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church" -1 Corinthians 14: 33-35- God also said for you to be quiet...

After reading the above statement and fighting nausea, I decided to thank Ms. Underwood with a tweet and a Facebook post. I encourage all of you to do the same. It’s important that we support those that stand with us because alone we are isolated, together we are bound - for marriage equality.
